Naturally You: a stone vase and branches against Pure Med Spa's fluted wall

Naturally You: My Philosophy of Care, Inside and Out

November 06, 2026•3 min read

Natural results aren’t a style. They’re a way of working: listen first, treat the cause, and never lose sight of who you are.

Almost every new patient tells me the same thing in the first five minutes: “I don’t want to look done.” I’m always glad to hear it, because neither do I.

I’m Nurse Melissa, a Nurse Practitioner and the lead injector at Pure Med Spa in Willow Glen. I’ve learned that natural results don’t come from a lighter hand alone. They come from understanding why your face is changing in the first place, and treating that.

Natural is a method, not a look

When people picture “natural,” they often picture “less”: less product, less change, less risk. But a natural result is really about precision. It means the right product, in the right place, in the right amount, for the real reason behind the change.

A tired look, for example, might come from a frown line, from lost volume in the cheeks, or from thinning skin under the eyes. Each one needs a different answer. Treating the wrong one is how faces start to look overdone.

“I want people to notice you look rested and well. I never want them to notice the work.”

Beauty is built from the inside, too

Your skin is a living organ, and it reflects what’s happening inside your body. Many women notice their skin becoming thinner, drier and slower to recover in their 40s and 50s, often the same years their hormones begin to shift.

That’s why Pure Med Spa looks at the whole person. When it’s relevant, we consider hormones, sleep, stress and metabolic health alongside your aesthetic goals. Feeling balanced shows on your face, and no injection can fully make up for a body that’s running on empty. If that sounds familiar, learn more about our bioidentical hormone therapy.

And from the outside: structure, volume, skin

On the outside, I think about the face in three layers:

  • Structure: the support that bone and deep fat give your features.
  • Volume: the fullness that keeps your face soft and lifted.
  • Skin quality: the texture, tone and glow people notice first.

Most plans touch all three, over time. A neuromodulator like Botox can soften an expression line, dermal filler or Sculptra can restore support, and a regenerative treatment such as PRF microneedling or a PDGF+ facial can help rebuild the skin itself.

Listening first, treating second

Every plan starts with a consultation, not a menu. I want to understand what bothers you, what you love about your face, your timeline and your budget. Then I’ll tell you honestly what I would and wouldn’t do.

Sometimes the best advice I can give is “not yet,” or “you don’t need that.” That honesty is the foundation of trust, and I’d rather earn your trust than sell you a syringe.

What “naturally you” looks like in practice

Here’s what you can expect when you work with me:

  • Small, considered doses, adjusted at follow-up instead of all at once
  • Fewer products, placed well, rather than more products everywhere
  • A plan that unfolds over months, so changes look gradual and real
  • Check-ins after treatment, and a direct line for questions
  • A whole-person view, including hormones when they play a role

Your first visit

Your first visit is a conversation. We’ll talk through your goals and health history, look closely at your face and skin, and build a plan with clear pricing. If it’s appropriate and you’d like to start treatment the same day, we can. If you’d rather take time to think, that’s welcome too.

Let’s start with a conversation.
